Observando aves en el Parque Nacional Carara

Observando aves en el Parque Nacional Carara

Hundreds of birders from all over the world visit us every year, Santuario Macao being one of the best hotspots in Costa Rica. It is a mandatory destination for those who take this hobby seriously, or rather this lifestyle.

Other protected areas of the biological corridor join our birdwatching zone in search of more birds, such as the well-known Carara National Park and the Tárcoles River, both also very famous for bird tourism. We recommend at least a three-night stay for fans who want to add some iconic species to their list, such as: White-tipped Sicklebill, Marbled Wood-Quail, Uniform Crake, Baird’s Trogon, and Sungreebe, amongst many others.
